Rotary Club donates e-library to school
IT was all smiles on the faces of the students and teachers of Lafiaji Senior Secondary School, Lagos Island, as Rotary Club of Lagos District 9110 and Dowen College management donated an e-Library to the school.
President of Rotary club of Lagos, Mr. Ayo Banjo, who presented the Library equipped with modern computers for the use of the students alongside other Nigerian senior citizens, who are members of the club and Principal of Dowen College, Lekki, noted that the donation was part of Rotary’s contribution to the development of humanity.
According to Banjo, Rotary club decided to intervene in order to address the plight of the students, who had suffered lack of poor ICT equipment.
“Rotary has succeeded in commissioning the e-library in collaboration with Dowen College. In Rotary, Education development is one of our key priority and we decided to partner Dowen College in order to put smiles on the faces of students of Lafiaji Senior Secondary School. Apart from the e-library, we are also donating educational materials to primary schools within this neighbourhood.”
Principal of Dowen College, Mrs. Olawumi Togonu-Bickersteth, urged the students and management to put the e-library to good use.
Principal of the school, Mrs. Mebude Olabisi, thanked the Rotary club, students and management of Dowen College for their generosity.
