Many challenges of healthcare delivery in Lagos
Providing affordable, accessible and quality healthcare in a mega city like Lagos is a huge task. State-owned tertiary and secondary facilities are currently overwhelmed and so overwhelming too are patients’ complaints on poor services and workers’ attitude. State commissioner for health, Dr. Olajide Idris, in this interview with WOLE OYEBADE, spoke on the situation and what he would be doing differently this time, particularly in the area of primary health, disease prevention, universal health coverage, service monitoring among other sundry issues.
