NO fewer than 10, 000 delegates from all walks of life graced the Jehovah’s Witnesses Christians Regional convention organised by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Lekki Assembly ground along the Lekki/Epe Expressway, Lagos.
The programme with the theme: “Imitate Jesus,” was aimed at uplifting and guiding delegates spiritually, as they experience critical times.
In a symposium themed: “Go Away Satan,” taken from Matt 4:8-11, Brother Trust Orevia pointed out that Satan started well, but he later rebelled, adding that people can start well in God’s service, but deviate later to evil deeds through distractions and pressure.
He advised the congregation to shun Satan’s subtle ways like Jesus Christ did, when He was offered the Kingdom and government of the world and bow before Satan, but Jesus rejected it. He urged them to oppose the devil and he will flee.
Other Speakers were circuit overseer, Brother Solomon Oriogboriga and Brother Isabalor Daniel, who spoke on: “As the storm approaches, maintain your focus on Jesus.”
During the three-day programme, conventioneers received free books, CDs and tracts, which empowered them to be God-fearing and better citizens, while 35 candidates were baptised.
