Simpson to deliver Crawford varsity’s second inaugural lecture
Professor of Sociology, Professor Alaba Simpson, will deliver the 2nd Inaugural Lecture of Crawford University, entitled: “Nuances of Re-cycled Acculturation and Relics of Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade in Lagos and Badagry.” It would be under the chairmanship of the vice chancellor, Professor Rotimi Ajayi.
According to a release by the school’s public relations officer, Layi Olajumoke, the event is expected to bring together social scientists, students, scholars and other members of the university community as well as experts from other universities.
The lecture is slated for May 10th, 2016 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Igbesa Campus of the institution in Ogun State.
Simpson, a noted sociologist and ethnographer, is a University of Westminster (PCL) graduate of Sociology. From thence, she proceeded to the School of African and Oriental Studies in the University of London, where she obtained her Masters degree in Ethnography of West Africa, from the Department of Social Anthropology.
