Many Christians do not realise the things that they are doing wrong. They come to church and hear the truth but they lack understanding; they have stayed so long in the world that they cannot absorb the truth.

Many Christians do not realise the things that they are doing wrong. They come to church and hear the truth but they lack understanding; they have stayed so long in the world that they cannot absorb the truth. This may be why a lot of people are going through untold hardship because of all the prayers that they are praying. They have not changed from their old ways and so no progress can be made in their lives. As a nation, we need to recognise that the reason that we have been going through a lot of tragedies is because of the evil that is being committed here. 2 Chronicles 7:14 states, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

We need spiritual revival. A lot of us, including our leaders are walking like blind men. Jeremiah 6:16 enjoins us to go back to the old ways; we need to begin to practise the ways of the old religion. Nowadays, we practise psychedelic Christianity; we have brought the world into the church. All this must end if we want to our tomorrows to be better and if we want to make heaven. We also need spiritual awareness; we must look at our lives and tell ourselves the truth about where we are going. We must all wake up and begin to see what God is trying to say to us.

If you used to enjoy fellowship with God but you no longer hear from Him, then it means that the enemy has placed you in a place of spiritual darkness and you do not know what is happening anymore. If there are signs that there is something blocking your vision, then you need to say the prayer that the psalmist prayed of “Lord, open my eyes”. The psalmist was not blind, but he was asking God to open his inner eyes so that he could receive a revelation from God.

For your spiritual revival to come to pass, you must also kill the old man, which is your flesh. The old man is an enemy of God, enemy of holiness, enemy of heaven and friend of Satan, and he is inside each one of us. Since man fell in the Garden of Eden, the condition of man is what is called the “old man”, the carnal nature of man, the inborn sin within our lives. As long as your carnal nature is alive and well in your life, your spiritual nature can never be open. Many people have been crying out to God for revelations and visions but they have refused to kill their carnal nature. Your carnal nature will prevent you from seeing God and His glory.

I pray that the Lord will open our eyes today so that we can see what is standing between us and our breakthroughs, see what is stopping us from moving forward and why God finds it difficult to invest in us.
