The appeal here above, regarding technology in Africa needs further encouragement. Too much about Africa is still decided from lavish boardrooms, extravagant conferences and church synods outside of this last continent. Mobile and other contextual or relevant technology can make a large difference in Africa. Much exist in the line of technological innovation and breakthrough already, whether related to medical intervention, communications, basic agricultural and health information, finding markets and extension services advice for rural farmers, and even basic education. Furthermore, economic hubs which can accommodate the design, manufacture, assembly and distribution of technology can be positioned in the cities and rural regions of Africa. Related services and support for software design and applications must be positioned. But perhaps most importantly, organizations in Africa who loudly profess to be concerned about the development of Africa, – must now change showmanship into good stewardship, please. Ground level Africa must be empowered with a bottom-upward, sustainable alternative economy with better infrastructure, better management, people-empowerment and socio economic results that convince all in undeniable national and international investor confidence.
