TEXA 2025: Experts drive conversation on sustainable event business
The Event Experience Africa (TEXA) 2025 conference came to an end with many event professionals empowered with knowledge and strategies on how to thrive in the new year.
The Conference held on January 29-30, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center, Federal Palace Hotel and brought together event industry professionals from across Africa to discuss sustainable event business practices.
In her opening remarks, Convener, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, stressed the vision behind TEXA as a platform for connection, collaboration and insightful learning from experts in the business ecosystem.
“This year’s theme, ‘Reignite,’ was chosen to address the challenges faced by event professionals in the current economic climate across Africa.”
The conference participants had a beautiful experience with loads of entertainment as well as featured fireside chats and panel sessions that tackled topical issues such as business branding, structure, strategy, customer experience, experiential marketing, event production, financial strategy for business growth, leveraging technology among others.
Renowned experts, including Dzigbordi Kwaku, Mohammed Garuba, Onye Ubanatu, Dr. Nkemdilim Iheanacho, Osayi Alile, Christine Ogbeh, Busola Odusanya, and Joycee Awosika, among others shared their insights and expertise with participants.
Bucknor-Obruthe stressed that TEXA provided a unique opportunity for event professionals to reconnect, recharge and reignite their passion for the industry.
“The conference highlighted the importance of sustainability, innovation and collaboration in driving business growth and success,” she noted.
She pointed out that as the event industry continues to evolve, TEXA remains committed to providing a platform for professionals to learn, network and thrive.
