Global best practices require that close attention be paid, not only to maximizing profits but also to the corporation’s response to the upliftment of the environment and the larger society, thus the need for organizations to be vibrant in giving back to the society through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
Committed corporations respond to the call to give back to their host communities by incorporating key elements into their business operations. This legacy of selfless service to host communities and the nation as a whole has earned them respect and admiration for their brand(s) and corporate images over time.
It is also worth noting that, despite the challenging business environment in 2023 due to infrastructural deficit, insecurity, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, some organizations have not relented in their CSR drives, distinguishing them in the quest to bridge infrastructural deficit in communities across the country.
In doing so, these organizations have continued to operate optimally as a result of best management practices, prudent resource management, and excellent corporate governance in achieving set goals and objectives.
In this report, The Guardian peeps into the driving force behind the various initiatives of Nepal Energies, one of Nigeria’s frontline energy companies and one that has a track record of impactful and excellent CSR initiatives in the areas of healthcare, education, sports, sanitation and beautification of the environment, engineering, provision of social amenities, training and mentorship programs, arts, and many others that the company has championed over the years.
NEPAL ENERGIES: Accelerating Africa’s Transition To Reliable and Sustainable Energy

In her remarks, she noted that the organisation has traversed the entire downstream and midstream value chain; from pipeline and storage construction to production and shipping, haulage and maintenance, and facility management. She highlighted the many internal struggles by the organization to solve their operational challenges and remain afloat. Earning their first marginal field award in 2020, Nepal has also stamped her mark as an upstream player.
According to her, Nepal Energies has remained committed to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria through various CSR activities such as the School for All Initiative (SAI) and Dream Alive Initiative (DAI) to address educational challenges and its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Access to Clean Water Initiative, and Health Outreaches to address health issues.
She added that “Our Operation Clothe the Widows and SOS Outreaches underline our Women and Children empowerment strategies, while Clean Up Fridays, an in-house initiative where our staff set out to clean the environment of our host communities, covers our contribution to the environment and climate action.
Ekeoma assured that “Nepal Energies is dedicated to providing the African population with access to clean energy through our many products and services. With various renewable energy sources, we are committed to not only ensuring the availability of clean energy in Africa but also providing them with the ability to access it, she assured.”
