The Vessel Of Revival (1)
Jeremiah 51:20-23 states: “You are my war club, my weapon for battle with you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms, with you I shatter horse and rider, with you I shatter chariot and driver, with you I shatter man and woman, with you I shatter old man and youth, with you I shatter young man and maiden, with you I shatter shepherd and flock, with you I shatter farmer and oxen, with you I shatter governors and officials.”
Who Cannot Be A Vessel Of Revival?
It is a tragedy for God to look at you and say, “I cannot use you despite all your good activities in church.” There are certain requirements God expects of one before He can make him/her a vessel of revival. They include the following:
Brokenness: One bitter truth is that God cannot use an unbroken person. God is not interested in the person that does not want to be remoulded by Him; one who cannot be corrected. Meaning if God empowers you, you will not be able to handle it.
You must be a vessel of revival that God can use the way He wants and not the way you want. Many of us are walking contrary to the way of God, walking the way we want. It is easy for one to miss it. You might actually think you are righteous, while in the real sense you are standing in the way of God. Peter did not know he was standing in the way of God when he told Jesus not to go to Jerusalem and fulfil His destiny. In Matthew 16:21-23, the Bible says, “From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” A vessel of revival in the hand of God will say yes to the will of God whether he understands it or not; once the Lord has spoken, he or she, yields.
When God is calling for a change you must change. It is sad that some people have been in church for some years, yet they have not changed from their ways even though the Servant of God has spent time teaching them from the Word of God and also counselling them, hoping for a change in their lives. While some of them have change in some areas, howbeit very minimal, some just manage to bury their bad attitudes, trying very hard to suppress it. God cannot use such people. This explains why God is not using some people that you think God should be using, some of them who ought to be vomiting fire, but unfortunately are still spiritual babies.
God has been calling for a change in their lives, but they have refused to change because of their un-brokenness. Un-brokenness hinders power; it is with both the poor and the rich.
