Agape Event Centre in Gbagada Lagos was recently beehive of human and vehicular movements as people from all walks of life and different denominations stormed the facility that hosted the 2015 edition of ‘Mega Hymn Congress’.

The event with the theme: ‘Joy Divine, Glorifying God In Hymns — Colossian 3 verse 16’, would remain in the hearts of those were in attendance as the 25-man choral group known as The Vision, all decked in white and black suits with touch of blue in ties and scarves, sang popular melodious tunes such as Stand Up For Jesus, What a Fellowship, what a Joy Divine, Joy to the World, Go Tell it on The Mountain, Wonderful Story of Love and Igbagbo mi Duro Lori to the admiration of the guests present.

Founder and coordinator of the group, Mrs. Olayinka Makanjuola, explained that the group is an evangelistic Christian Ministry with a mission to propagate the Gospel through hymns, adding that it is a not-for-profit outreach that believes in the power of worship, praise, prayer, testimony and experiences expressed and transmitted through hymns to impact lives positively and give hope to all.

While giving thanks to God for sustaining the Ministry and the success story so far, Makanjuola said The Vision as a group encourages people to sing Hymns at all times. She noted that the group in their little way has help the less privileged and intelligent indigent student of the society educationally.

“We have decided to assist three outstanding and indigent students, Owolabi Adams, Abibat Janab and Owolabi Ahmed, all from Ifako High School, a public secondary school in Lagos with a scholarship that covers their NECO and WASC Examinations.”

The special guest of honour at the event, Pastor Banji Omoyele, in his admonition and reading from Philippians 4 verse 4 said: “Divine happiness is from God as he is the source of happiness. All joy comes from him, and that Joy of the Lord is our strength. The joy of God is an access to God‘s presence, therefore people should be joyful in the Lord..”
