The University of Ibadan (UI) and Carlcare Development Nigeria Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an Infinix club in the university.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kayode Adebowale, said the agreement is targeted at youths.

He, however, pointed out that the agreement must be very active to ensure that maximum benefits are derived.

The agreement was for the establishment of a mutually beneficial relationship through a plethora of programmes, platforms and sharing of innovative ideas.

It seeks to enhance the academic, management, entrepreneurial, social and technical skills of students to increase their global competitiveness.

The VC disclosed that a social club, to be known as Infinix club, would be established on campus to mobilise the active participation of students in technology, innovation and entrepreneurial development.

The university is expected to provide technical and manpower support; ensure registration of the club on campus and provide workable space with basic amenities.

Carlcare will utilise its corporate image to design, develop and promote various skill development programmes and initiatives to meet the objectives of the partnership.

It will offer scholarships and funding opportunities to active members of the club, while also providing employment opportunities to active and dedicated members who graduated with exceptional grades.
