YABATECH ranked best polytechnic in Nigeria
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has emerged the best polytechnic in Nigeria for the second time in the Webometrics ranking released in July 2021.
Media Relations Officer of the institution, Mr Felix Alade, said the ranking was based on web contents impact; top-cited researchers and papers published on research and publication platforms online.
Alade, in a statement, added that the primary objective of the ranking web was to promote access to the knowledge generated by institutions.
He said: “YABATECH has been able to implement strategies to improve her ranking through increase in the quantity and quality of web content.”
Alade noted that the ranking web, which started in 2004, was aimed at offering full coverage of higher institutions globally.
He disclosed that 31 institutions from over 200 countries were ranked by Webometrics, while editors of the ranking web were scientists working in world-class public research institutions, with long years experience in metrics-guided evaluation.
