Your Excellency, our father and revered elder,
With great respect and loyalty, I write this letter to you—not only as an aspirant in the forthcoming Agege Local Government Chairmanship election but as a devoted son of the progressive family, nurtured in the principles of our party and deeply rooted in the soil of Agege.
Sir, you are a symbol of wisdom, sacrifice, and institutional memory within our party. You have walked the path of leadership with courage and fairness, and I approach you with the reverence due to a father whose voice carries weight and whose legacy is carved in service.
As we approach the July 12 local government election, I come to you with one simple plea: let the playing field be level for all aspirants. Let the foundation of democracy that our great party upholds remain unshaken at the grassroots. Let the will of the people—not the power of influence—be the true decider.
I am not a stranger to Agege—I am a full-blooded son of the community. I did not just arrive because there is an election; I have lived the story of this town. I have felt its pulse, walked its streets, shared its challenges, and celebrated its triumphs. The people know me because I am one of them—and I know them because I have never left.
As a loyal party member, I have followed the principles laid down by our founding fathers—principles you have defended for decades. I believe that internal democracy must be more than a phrase; it must be a practice. Our people want purposeful representation—one that listens, learns, and leads. And for that to happen, they must be allowed to choose.
The beauty of our great party lies in its ability to renew itself through the voice of the people. Agege deserves leaders who emerge through merit, not selection. The community is watching, hopeful that our party will once again prove that it is the beacon of democratic values in Nigeria.
Sir, as one of your political sons, I ask that you and the distinguished members of the GAC ensure fairness, equity, and justice in the selection process. I ask not for favors, but for the chance to stand side by side with others—tested on vision, trusted on character, and chosen by the people.
I remain loyal, respectful, and ever committed to the ideals of our great party.
With humility and hope,
Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel (TOS)
