The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has emphasised the need for collaboration among professionals in public and private sectors to ensure excellence in Nigeria’s building and construction subsectors.

This call was made by SON’s Director General, Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, ahead of the national conference on the building sector, scheduled for November 12 at the Nigerian Airforce Conference Center, Abuja.

The conference, themed, “Adherence to Standard Practices: Bedrock of Sustainable Development in the Building Sector,” aims to bring together leading stakeholders to reposition the building sector for safety, growth, and sustainability.

Okeke urged professionals and stakeholders to actively participate, leveraging their expertise to address recurrent challenges.

The conference’s outcomes are expected to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, focusing on affordable, quality, and safe housing for all Nigerians.

This initiative aims to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities within the housing subsector.
