President Bola Tinubu will mark his 73rd birthday on Saturday, March 29, with a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja, scheduled for Friday.

A statement issued Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), announced the prayer session, noting it as a moment for Tinubu to give thanks for divine guidance in his leadership role.

“Choosing a prayer session reflects President Tinubu’s dedication to Nigeria’s spiritual and moral well-being and his commitment to seeking divine guidance, insight, and strength in leadership,” the statement read. It added, “He believes collective prayer is a powerful tool for guiding the nation towards progress and harmony.”

The presidency also shared Tinubu’s call for Nigerians to participate in the prayers, either at their places of worship or elsewhere, as a gesture of unity. “I am deeply thankful to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to serve this great nation,” Tinubu was quoted as saying. “As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary, my heart is filled with Renewed Hope for Nigeria. I urge all citizens to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing for our land. Together, we shall overcome challenges and build a nation where every citizen thrives.”

The statement emphasized Tinubu’s focus on consolidating democratic progress, driving economic recovery, and fostering national unity. “The President reaffirms his commitment to advancing economic reforms, strengthening national security, and expanding opportunities for all citizens,” it concluded.

The prayer session aligns with Tinubu’s expressed belief in divine intervention as a foundation for national development, according to the presidency.
