After 19 Year Engagement, Michelle Yeoh Gets Married
Michelle Yeoh, the Oscar-nominated actress, and Jean Todt, the former Ferrari CEO, have finally tied the knot after a 19-year engagement. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Geneva on Thursday, July 27, surrounded by a close group of friends and family.
Yeoh, 60, wore a custom-made wedding dress by Elie Saab, while Todt, 77, wore a navy blue suit. The couple’s wedding program featured a brief outline of their relationship history, which began in 2004 when they met in Shanghai while Yeoh was doing press for Ferrari. Todt proposed to Yeoh just two months later, and they have been engaged ever since.
In a statement, the couple said that they were “overjoyed” to finally be married. “We have been through so much together over the past 19 years, and we are so grateful to have found each other,” they said. “We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.”
Yeoh is a Malaysian-born actress who has starred in films such as “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Todt is a French former racing driver who served as the CEO of Ferrari from 1993 to 2007. He is currently the president of the FIA, the governing body of world motorsport.
The couple’s wedding was a private affair, and they have not released any photos from the event. However, they did share a few words about their happiness on social media.
“Today after 6992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends,” the wedding program read. “We are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!”
Now that my other son @MassaFelipe19 has « discreetly » spread the good news, I can happily confirm the union with the Love of my life, Michelle. pic.twitter.com/p7Q09cpfhP
