Angelique Kidjo has been trolled by fans of Nigerian music star, Wizkid after her win at the Grammys on Sunday.
She shared an image of herself jubilating over her win and was trailed by fans filled with rage over her win.
Due to the online bullying and vile comments by Wizkid’s fans, the Beninese singer blocked the comment section on her Instagram account.
Angelique Kidjo won the Best Global Music Album for her album Mother Nature which ironically features Nigerians like Yemi Alade, Burna Boy and Mr Eazi.
While receiving her award she said in her speech “When I won [my last] Grammy, I said that the young musicians from Africa are gonna take the world by storm, so I want to thank them: Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Sting, Mr. Eazi.“
Wizkid who was a nominee in the same category as Angelique Kidjo lost to her as well as losing the Best Global Music Performance.
