Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has recently shown his dark side as he stomped on a fan’s iPhone 16 Pro Max.

On Sunday, September 29, 2024, a video surfaced online showing Ololade Mi Asake angrily pushing the phone to the ground before aggressively stomping on it, causing significant damage. The incident occurred when a fan named Adeoti approached the singer for a photo.

Adeoti later shared the video on TikTok, expressing his disappointment in the singer’s actions. “You broke my iPhone 16 Pro Max,” he wrote in the caption. “It’s not because they pissed you off inside the nightclub that you are going to react like that towards a fan. Anyway, I still love you.”

The video quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage and criticism. Many fans expressed their disappointment and disbelief, questioning the singer’s behaviour towards his supporters. Some even suggested that the incident reflected a broader issue of how celebrities treat their fans.

However, Adeoti later clarified his stance in a separate post, reaffirming his love and support for Asake despite the incident. This declaration sparked mixed reactions, with some fans expressing understanding and forgiveness while others continued to criticise the singer’s actions.

One Instagram user condemned the singer’s behaviour, calling it “gutter behaviour” and questioning his treatment of fellow Nigerians. Another fan expressed their outrage, suggesting that Asake might not have reacted the same way if the fan had been white.

Still, others reflected on Asake’s rise to fame, reminding him of his humble beginnings. “People forget easily where they’re coming from,” one user commented. “I’m sure Asake at one point in his life wanted to take pictures with celebrities too. How do you treat a fellow human being like that?”

As of the time of this writing, Asake has not publicly responded to the incident. It remains to be seen how the singer will address the controversy and whether he will apologise to the affected fan or replace the damaged phone.
