Bisola Badmus, revealed on her Instagram page that she has been struggling with a brain disease known as encephalopathy for over a year. Encephalopathy is a broad term encompassing various brain diseases that impact both the structure and function of the brain, leading to issues like confusion and memory loss.

In a heartfelt birthday post on Monday, Badmus disclosed the challenging journey she has been on due to the ailment, which prompted her withdrawal from social media. She expressed gratitude for reaching another birthday, especially considering the severity of her health struggle.

“Thank you, Lord, for another amazing year to celebrate my new age in sound health,” the actress expressed. “Over a year now, I have been battling with health issues (Encephalopathy). I cannot even wish my enemy such illness. It was a tough one indeed.”

Badmus acknowledged the support she received during this trying period, highlighting the loss of her mother in the midst of her health battle. She extended appreciation to her family, industry colleagues, business associates, and the brands she represents for their unwavering support.

“That made me stay off social media for a long while now. In between, I lost my precious mother. Unquestionable God, I thank you for everything, particularly for me to witness yet another birthday of mine,” she reflected. “I will be an ungrateful soul if I fail to appreciate the amazing people that stood by me during the challenging period.”

The actress concluded her post with heartfelt gratitude to those who supported her, emphasizing the pivotal role they played in helping her navigate the difficulties posed by encephalopathy.
