The music award night was held on the 11th of September 2024, at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
Burna Boy’s song, “City Boys,” was nominated for the VMAs award. Also, “Last Heartbreak Song” by Ayra Starr Ft. Giveon was nominated. However, both songs lost to Tyla’s “Water.” Burna and Ayra didn’t win the category but it’s still a win for the afrobeat’s legends to have been nominated for the award.
