This is not the best of times for Nigerian Reggae-dancehall singer, Burna Boy.

The musician submitted himself at about 5 pm yesterday to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja in connection with an allegation made against him and his manager by fellow musician, Mr. 2kay. Mr 2kay said that Burna’s manager, Joel Kantiock sent a gang to rob him at Eko Hotel and Suites early last month. In the process, he lost valuables worth millions of naira including a N9million wristwatch.

Also, Tunmise Omotore, the leader of the gang, upon interrogation, confessed that he and his gang members disguised as room service to rob the artiste.

Meanwhile, Mr Imohimi Edgal, the Commissioner of Police, has said that the state is committed to ensuring that all crimes are prosecuted.

In his words, “There would be no sacred cows. This Command is poised to ensure that every resident can feel safe wherever they are and carry out their businesses without fear or favour. Anyone therefore found to be involved in this case would be made to face the law to clear his or her name or face prosecution.”

Mr. 2kay who claims that his album release was stalled by the incident has said that Burna Boy told him “he has no hand it” and that he (2kay) “holds nothing against him”.

Burna Boy will be charged to court on Monday, the Lagos State Public Relations Officer, Mr Chike Oti said.
