Burnaboy Makes History With Sold-Out Concert In Canada
Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy has achieved another milestone in his career, making African history with back-to-back sold-out shows at the Scotia Bank Arena in Canada.
The Grammy-winning artist became the first Nigerian artist to accomplish this feat, dazzling fans on the 24th and 25th of February 2024 during the “I Told Them Tour”
The Scotia Bank Arena, with a capacity of 19,000, was packed to the brim for two consecutive nights, showcasing Burna Boy’s remarkable music-making ability and stellar stage performance.
The weekly “Afrobeats To The World” Space on X featured host Emmanuel Owoniyi describing the concert as a remarkable experience, emphasizing that Burna Boy and his Outsiders band delivered value for the audience’s money.
This achievement adds to Burna Boy’s list of firsts for African music, including being the first African to headline a stadium concert in the UK and the US. He also made history as the first African artist to perform at the Grammy’s main ceremony during the 66th Grammy Awards.
