It was a remarkable moment when nine-year-old Christiana Igbokwe, granddaughter of the late music icon, Christy Essien Igbokwe, debuted on the music scene with a befitting remix of the golden bop, Seun Rere.
The Nigerian-American singer adds her exciting twist to the rendition of the song with her lithe and stretchy vocals. She also lists her late grandmother as a collaborator on the song.
First released in the ‘80s, Seun Rere is a didactic record that unfurls a conversation between a mother and her child, serving as a muse for morality.

Seun Rere is also the official theme song to the Disney+ Movies dubbed, Rise, an American biographical sports-drama film directed by Akin Omotoso, from a script written by Arash Amel. It is based on the true story of three young Nigerian-Greek brothers, Giannis, Thanasis and Kostas Antetokounmpo, who emigrate to the United States and rose to fame and success within the National Basketball Association. The flick was released as a Disney+ original on June 24.
Seun Rere is out across digital platforms.
