Dgenius Bespoke Stuns at Alimosho Fashion Weekend 2024
Emerging luxury men’s fashion brand, Dgenius Bespoke, left a lasting impression at the recently concluded Alimosho Fashion Weekend 2024, showcasing their latest collection inspired by the theme “Classic Gentry.” The event, held during the last week of July, celebrated the richness of African culture, providing a platform for local brands to display their creativity and craftsmanship.
Hassan Sanni, the creative director of Dgenius Bespoke, expressed the significance of showcasing at the event. “It was a pivotal moment for us,” Hassan said in an interview after the show. “It provided us with a platform to connect directly with our local community and showcase our designs in an environment that celebrates the richness of African culture. It was a good opportunity to highlight the craftsmanship and luxury of our brand while reinforcing our commitment to promoting and elevating African fashion on a global scale.”
The designs on the runway were a seamless blend of timeless elegance and modern sophistication. Inspired by the theme ‘Classic Gentry,’ Dgenius Bespoke’s collection featured bold embellishments, clean lines, rich textures, patch pockets, and impeccable tailoring, catering to the discerning tastes of the modern gentleman. “Each piece was meticulously crafted to represent luxury and versatility,” Hassan explained. “The collection also incorporated subtle African influences, paying homage to our roots while appealing to an international audience.”
Local fashion events like the Alimosho Fashion Weekend play a crucial role in the growth of the fashion industry in Africa, Hassan emphasized. “Promoting local fashion events fosters a sense of community and encourages the growth of local talent. These events provide a stage for fashion experts, professional designers, and emerging models to showcase their creativity and innovation,” he said. “Additionally, local fashion events preserve our cultural heritage by integrating traditional elements into contemporary fashion, making it accessible to a broader audience.”
Looking ahead, Dgenius Bespoke has ambitious plans. “We’re committed to consistently pushing the envelope in men’s fashion,” Hassan noted. “We have several upcoming showcases, editorials, and campaigns lined up, one of which was shot on the 1st of September with the support of Eco Bank at their Headquarters and a few fashion creatives. Our aim is to keep our audience engaged and excited about what’s next, ensuring that each presentation brings something fresh to the table.”
Dgenius Bespoke is also preparing for future expansions both locally and internationally. “We’re working on collaborations that will bring our designs to new markets,” Hassan revealed. “We’re also exploring sustainable practices in our production process. Our future collections will continue to embody the essence of luxury and timelessness, with a focus on creating pieces that resonate with the modern man for global representation.”
