DJ Spinall, Ice Prince Mayorkun, Fire Boy, Others Light Up Abuja

Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, recently witnessed loads of fun and live music, as leading entertainers stormed the city for the Xpressions of the Smirnoff X1 Tour party.

Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, recently witnessed loads of fun and live music, as leading entertainers stormed the city for the Xpressions of the Smirnoff X1 Tour party.

The high-energy party was filled to capacity with guests awed by the mind-blowing performances from the likes of Mayorkun, Pretty Boy D-O, Fire Boy DML and Ice Prince, who made a surprise appearance at the groove that lasted into the night. With DJ Spinall in charge of the console, there were no dull moments, as The Cap, as he’s fondly called, treated the audience to the best of Naija hits.

The highlight of the show was the colourful Smirnoff X1’s new label unveiling on screen, fueled by a delightful array of Smirnoff cocktails, made with Smirnoff X1 Extra Smooth and the delicious Smirnoff X1 Chocolate. The night was also lit with vibrant Xpressions through urban games and artwork for guests to explore and interact with the new label.

DJ Spinall set the tone for the evening with some hottest Nigerian tunes, before youngster Fireboy DML sent the crowd roaring with excitement, with an electrifying performance of his hit single, Jealous. Since the release of the single, Jealous has been enjoying massive airplay on both local and international music channels.

By the time Mayorkun mounted the stage, it became a sing-along night of hit songs with the packed crowd. Popularly called Mayor of Lagos, he gave the Abuja fans a taste of Lagos party.

Though not originally on the bill, Chocolate City’s Ice prince made a surprise appearance at the event, as he took guests down memory lane with those hits that launched him into the industry.

Born Panshak Zamani, Ice Prince rose to fame after releasing Oleku, one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs of all time. He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour and eventually released his debut studio album Everybody Loves Ice Prince was released in 2011.

Ice Prince brought the Abuja gig to an end, though guests partied till early hours of the following day.With Abuja having now distinguishing itself with this first of its kind Urban-themed party, following Ibadan, Enugu and Abeokuta, the themed Smirnoff X1 Tour party is on the move; you city could be next.
