An affordable tourist zone, it shares Hispaniola Island with Haiti. It is also a top honeymoon location with an average of 6.1 million visitors every year.

Santo Domingo


Santo Domingo is the capital of the island and the UNESCO World Heritage Colonial City. The capital has a lot of historic renaissance art and medieval sites built in the first World. Asides striking museums, you also get the opportunity to see the oldest cathedral in the Americas called the First Cathedral of America, Plaza de la Cultura and the Alcazar De Colón, which was built by the son of Christopher Columbus.

Eastern National Park

The Eastern National Park is home to over 112 species of birds including the rare white-headed dove, a rhinoceros iguana and has one of the largest marine parks. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has bottlenose dolphins, four species of sea turtles and many fishes.

Bávaro beach, Punta Cana

Enjoy nature and its beauty in one of the best beaches in the world. Close to it is the Sunscape resort. The resort has an 18-hole golf course, a casino and a theatre.

La Romana

If you are a lover of the arts, your first stop should be La Romana. An attractive site for tourists, there is a luxury resort, Casa de Campo, which was exclusively designed by Oscar de la Renta. The resort has one of the finest golf courses in the Caribbean “Teeth of the Dog” which oversees an ocean and the Isla Catalina, a cruise-ship port of call.
