Filmmaker, Egboro bags honorary doctorate degree in Atlanta

US-based Nigerian filmmaker, Steve Egboro was among eminent personalities drawn from different countries across multiple disciplines and bestowed with Honorary Doctorate Degree by Trinity International University of Ambassadors, Atlanta.The conferment ceremony held recently with millionaire blogger, Linda Ikeji also among the honourees.

Speaking on the criteria for the selection, Dr. Jacqueline Mohair Founder & Chancellor, said, “The Doctor of Humane Letters is offered to persons who have made numerous contributions to society through philanthropic or civic work.”

Past honourees include renowned leaders and business owners such as Dr. Rita Samuels (Dr. Martin Luther King Secretary), Dr. Sonnie Badu of Sonnie Badu Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega fire Ministries and Dr. Debra Winans (BeBe Winans).

While thanking the University, Egboro said, “This is really humbling for me considering where I am coming from. I consider this honour a recognition not only for me but for every Nigerian filmmaker and entertainer out there.”

It would be recalled that recently, Egboro was honoured with a Certificate of Honors by organizers of the Nollywood Travel Film Festival in North America.The latest recognition came for the showbiz mogul, who through his Antilia Heights Production has been pushing African talents in North America. Also among those honoured was millionaire blogger, Linda Ikeji. Egboro has been responsible for the success of concerts headlined by popular Nigerian talents, Davido and Bovi.
