Horace Tempo Speaks About His Love For Music

Music producer and artist, Horace Wangnin Saizonou who is known musically as Horace Tempo has signed his way to the hearts of many music lovers with his own unique brand of music which embodies pure originality.

His musical composition and production as a musician and music producer set him apart from the rowdy crowd that is daily invading Africa’s musical landscape.

Horace Tempo is a rising music producer who traditionally produces instrumental tracks to create a unique identity in the music industry and his community of devoted followers is rapidly growing on social media.

He admits in this interview he is an addict when it comes to music consumption and composition, revealing it is the very essence that defines his very identity and DNA.

He says:

Tempo in music means the speed or pace of a given piece, and it is measured by beats per minute. Horace is my first name. So for my stage name, I chose Horace Tempo because I am addicted to the consumption of music and that led me to study the art and start producing. I am a big fan of the game too. What inspires me is I remind myself that if as a starter I could release myself as an independent artist, then I have a calling, I am not just passionate, I am a chosen one. The one complex thing for me is keeping the listeners waiting while you are cooking new music. As an independent artist or “up and coming”, you start with gaining listeners before having a fanbase and that’s a hard one. If you understand the industry, you know radio is your way to the listeners.

Horace Tempo’s musical trajectory took a defined direction when the Coronavirus forced the world to go into lockdown.

It was a solemn time in the history of mankind and the Benin Republic artist took advantage of it to perfect his craft and reached down into the recesses of his musical creativity. He explains:

Early 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world and we were under lockdown, I mastered my craft and got the blessings of a few of my mentors, and that’s how I produced my first record “The Ride” and released it early 2020.
