Nursing mother stabs her children

A 28-year-old nursing mother has been arrested for the murder of her three children.

The woman from Basud in Camarines Norte, Philippines, hacked her children, ages 5, 1 year/8 months old, and 4 months old, to death at their home.

After the gruesome act, she attempted to commit suicide but survived it and is still confined to a hospital.

According to the police, she committed the dastardly act because she thought she was infected with the novel coronavirus that has seen over five million people infected worldwide.

Basud Police believes that the suspect could be suffering Postpartum Depression.

The husband of the suspect and her other relatives are very determined to press charges against her.

The children

Three counts of parricide were filed by the Philippine National Police against the mother.

Her case is similar to that of a Phoenix mom, Octavia Rogers who stabbed her three young sons to death in 2016.

She allegedly murdered and partially dismembered Jaikare Rahaman, eight, Jeremiah Adams, five, and two-month-old Avery Robinson.

She then stuffed the dismembered boys’ bodies in a closet and a suitcase, Phoenix Police Sergeant Trent Crump said.

Police say the 29-year-old mother to the three boys stabbed herself in the neck and abdomen, claiming she was pregnant.

She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but expected to survive.

The children’s grandmother Tanella McCoy said Rogers was a ‘good mother’ and did not appear to be having any problems with her children.

“I don’t know what to feel right now. I don’t know where to go, I don’t know where to turn,’ Ms McCoy told The Arizona Republic.

My daughter knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would take her kids because there were times she would talk to me about leaving for the summer.”

McCoy said Avery was a ‘very good baby’, adding that Jeremiah was her ‘muscleman’ and Jaikare was a ‘book scholar’ with a bright future.

Rogers’ brother said he was speaking to his sister in the garage when she was ‘talking about religion and how she found the answer.’

He said she locked him out of the home and when he got inside he found her with self-inflicted stab wounds to the abdomen and chest.
