After 14 years producing several countrywide hits, Grammy-nominated Nigerian producer Shizzi (Oluwaseyi Akerele), has announced the launch of his record label, Ordained By God (OBG) Records.
“OBG is a reflection of faith, purpose, and legacy,” Shizzi said. “Afrobeats is evolving fast, but it needs depth again. With OBG, I want to raise artistes who don’t just chase hits, they make timeless music. Tayor is the beginning of that vision,” he told Guardian Music.

With over a billion streams across a discography that has funnelled Afrobeats’ global rise, with major production credits including Davido’s “Dami Duro”, “Blow My Mind (with Chris Brown)”; Wizkid’s “Love My Baby”; Wande Coal’s “Baby Face”, as well as recording collaborations with Beyoncé, the 40-year-old record producer has shaped Afrobeats’ growth in large measure.
From a church drummer to one of the genre’s defining architects, his journey mirrors the sound’s evolution, from its rustic uptempo highlife pop, to its therapeutic emo-pop and, now, Amapiano-leaning dance bops.
“OBG Records is a creative sanctuary for artists who embody originality, depth, and global potential, over virality which has, in recent times, overshadowed artistry,” he said.
Meanwhile, he also announced the signing of the label’s first artiste, Tayor. “For the past three years, I have worked closely with Taylor behind the scenes, refining his sound, developing his artistry, and aligning every creative detail for an impactful debut.”
Tayor’s upcoming debut single, “Famous,”captures that spirit, a witty, self-aware anthem that explores ambition, love, and the true meaning of fame. It anchors the #BetOnTayor campaign, an invitation to fans and culture shapers to witness the making of Afrobeats’ next wave.
