Music goes beyond the artist, the lyrics, or any other aspect of it when the sound is missing....

Music goes beyond the artist, the lyrics, or any other aspect of it when the sound is missing. It becomes whole and more pleasing to the ear when the production of sound is done correctly and with precision. And one of Nigeria’s astute producers is Adeyemi Temitayo.

Adeyemi Temitayo, popularly known as Standardguytayo, is a Nigerian music producer, sound designer, and talent developer. Born on 7th August 1995 and a proud Ijebu, he grew up surrounded by the bustling sounds of the city. From an early age, to Temitayo, music felt natural to him, and it was not just something to listen to but something to create and be a great part of.

Standardguytayo makes music with an attention that’s quite unimagined. He’s always focused on how a song should feel and make you feel. Adeyemi takes time to understand artists and their ideas before curating the sound for their lyrics and verses. He values honesty and simplicity in his work, and his goal is always to create music that feels real and connects with people.

Standardguytayo’s discovery of himself came after spending longer hours listening so keenly to everything about the music, not just listening but fully engaging with the process. Over time, he realized that his interest went beyond making beats. Standardguytayo found fulfillment in breaking sounds apart, rebuilding them, and understanding why certain ideas worked. He would observe during studio sessions, and while in creative spaces, he allowed himself to learn by doing, and those moments slowly revealed his natural instincts as a producer.

As he worked with upcoming artists, things became clearer. He had a strong ability to hear what others could not yet express and help bring it out through sound. Watching rough ideas grow into polished records showed him that his strength was in guidance and direction. Through collaboration and hands-on experience, he came to understand his role as someone who helps shape identity, refine talent, and turn raw ideas into powerful music.

Standardguytayo is motivated by great people that were in the music industry before him and have also built the culture in different ways. Don Jazzy inspires him with his capability to discover and work on artists and also create evergreen sounds. Drake and Jay-Z motivate him through their consistency, growth, and understanding of the business side of music. Alex Boateng and Larry Jackson also influence him, especially in how they spot talent, take risks, and turn ideas into strong creative brands.

He produced his first official track in 2021. Most of Standardguytayo’s produced songs, like ‘’Overflow”, “Jealousy,” and “In My Heart,” among others, showcase his brilliance in music production. With rhythmic percussion, piano chords, bass guitar, and other electronic sounds, Standardguytayo understands his work. By 2026, Standardguytayo had worked on five songs.

Apart from his production prowess, Standardguytayo has made a huge impact and influence on different songs and prominent projects, where he served as the Artiste and Repertoire (A&R). Among these projects is the successful Extended Play (EP) of the Afrobeats star, Oxlade’s Oxygen EP, which was released during the Covid-19 lockdown 2020. He also did the A & R for Yarden’s Towd EP (2023), Plug Music’s Celine EP (2024), King Promise’s Paris, 2 Paranoid, & Own It (2024), Tiphe’s Purpose & Poetry EP (2024), also the Nigerian musician, Islambo’s Konsoliday EP (2025), Citi Boi’s Bami Loco EP (2025), and also the incredible FIFA U17 World Cup Official Song by Yarden and Nour Tmrw’s Goat (2025). Standardguytayo achieved this great feats and depicted his versatility in the music industry beyond just being a producer

Standardguytayo has a dream, which is to work with Rema, Justin Bieber, Central Cee, Dave, and Billie Eilish because of their diverse and great impacts in music. Working with them would inspire him to make music that really connects deeply with people. With every song he produces, Standardguytayo keeps learning and growing, making sounds that touch more than just the ears. His journey is just starting, and his passion shows that even better music is still to come.
