After 13 weeks of dance battles, the Glo Battle of The Year finally ended last weekend at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, amidst pomp and pageantry.

A total of 1,491 contested for the N84 million grand prize, and an opportunity to represent Nigeria on the global stage, at the international dance competition in Japan.   As expected, the atmosphere at the grad finale was electrifying; excitement filled the air. The host of the show, Do2tun also added to the fun and excitement with his energetic stage presence.
 
Glo ambassadors Teni Apata and Simi set the tone for the finale with an exhilarating joint performance to the delight of the obviously excited crowd. With two of the leading Nigerian female artistes on stage at the same time, it wasn’t a surprise to see the crowd sing along.

To spice up the evening, comedians Gordons and Basketmouth got slots to treat the audience to jaw breaking jokes. Ugandan comedian, Salvador, also gave a good account of himself on stage.
  
Highpoint of the evening was the performance by Davido who held the audience spellbound for about an hour. As usual, Davido was in his element, treating guests to the best of his repertoire.

  
Earlier, the pre-live show featuring Breakdance Crew witnessed very keen contests with participants giving their best. Eventually, the Lagos duo of 619 crew and Space Unlimited alongside Delta All-Stars and Port Harcourt power crew, Eleven All-Stars, emerged as semifinalists.
  
In the Bgirls finale, Lagos representative, Bgirl Cruxxy emerged winner defeating Bgirl Vicky from Abuja, while in the Bboy category, Lagos-based dancer, Bboy Lil Dan showed his skill and was crowned Champion defeating Bboy Off, Six God, Lil Vic, Lym, Midnight, Trixx, and Whirlz.

In the Breakdance Crew battle, 619 Crew defeated Port Harcourt heavyweights, 11-All Stars, in an intense Breakdance Crews final battle. All the winners and runner-ups from the seven dance categories of the show were awarded cash prizes by Globacom at the grand finale broadcast live on both NTA and AIT networks.

Israel Monday (Izzy Twist) who won in the Afro Dance was rewarded with N1.5 million, while Angela Anthony (Angela) who was the runner up went home with N750,000)

Isibor Odigie (Isikonko) won the Popping category and was rewarded with N1.5m, while the runner up, Akhigbe Richard (Soul Busta) was rewarded with N750,000.

Also in the Locking category, Micheal Olanrewaju (Mike) was adjudged the winner and won N1.5 million, while Benedict Odoh Emmanuel (Benedict) who was the runner up won N750,000.

Charles Enwem known as Lil Conqueror who came victorious in the Krump category won N1.5 million, while Gift Ephraim (Rife) won N750,000 as the runner up.

In the Bboy Crew, 619 won a total of N9 million and a Space wagon, while Eleven All Starz won N4.5 million.
