Babalola Otitoju Joseph, also known as Joseph Water, is a top Nigerian model.

Babalola Otitoju Joseph, a Nigerian model based in the United States of America, has revealed the pressure and huge expectations that comes with being in the industry.

The top model fondly referred to as Joseph Water attained recognition on the international stage in the modelling industry when he began to appear for popular fashion brands in the US.

Joseph Water grew up in Nigeria but moved to the US at age 20 to pursue his dreams of becoming a model.

In a deep line of thoughts, Tshetrim Tharchen pointed out that, “Our life is all about taking our chances. The number of chances that we get or make doesn’t matter. It’s the number of chances we take that really matters.”

Sharing what appeared to be his experience in his career so far, the young model wrote in a post on his Instagram handle: “The pressure keeps building, but luckily I’m built for it”.

Water, who featured in the Nollywood film, ‘Wadu Wadu,’ recently featured at the Atlanta Fashion Week Show where he strutted down the runway in mysterious sunglasses in an all-red design. He shared the video of the event with his subscribers on his YouTube channel with the caption: “Recap of all the looks from Atlanta Fashion Week Show. Let me know if you spot me in there.”

In an interview, Water credited self-belief for his achievements.

“I can’t miss out on the importance of believing in oneself. The modelling industry has taught me that you need to believe in yourself before anyone else will. Self-worth and confidence are infectious — once you fiercely believe in yourself, a lot of things will align. It doesn’t matter who likes your style, others will just love you because people love where worth is exuded,” he stated.

He added: “I’ve learned to deal with rejection. Rejection feels awful but it is a basic part of human relationships, and we must adapt to receiving rejection in a healthy way that doesn’t militate our esteem.”

Despite how successful he has been, the Nigerian is still hungry for more exploits.

Water also said he is looking at a career in acting.

“It fulfils me to give life to a character and kill the role. Recently, I have been doing some movies in Nollywood. Not too long ago, I was featured in a Yoruba movie titled ‘Wadu Wadu’. I am still learning the intricacies of acting, understanding how to play different characters and pass the message across with such realness, and also the ability to evoke emotions. I love acting,” Water stated.
