Taylor Swift Releases Colourful LGBT Anthem, “You Need To Calm Down”
Grammy award-winning singer, Taylor Swift is celebrating pride month by releasing a song in support of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans (LGBT) community.
Her new single titled, “You Need To Calm Down” also sees her ending her six-year feud with frenemy, Katy Perry as they hug and make up in the video for the single.
29-year-old Swift dropped the song today and it is accompanied with a star-studded music video as they all take a stand against LGBTQ discrimination, urging fans to sign her petition for Senate support of the Equality Act.
The video boasts of big entertainment names like Ryan Reynolds, Laverne Cox, Ru Paul and a number of Queer Eye stars also making cameo appearances. Other celebrities in the star-studded music video include gay icons Ellen DeGeneres, Billy Porter and Adam Lambert and superstar singer Ciara.
At the end of the music video, Taylor takes a firm stand against LGBTQ discrimination, with a message that reads: ‘Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally.
‘Please sign my petition for Senate support of the Equality Act on Change.org.’
