North Korea leader, Kim Jong Un has reportedly banned North Koreans from eating hotdogs.
The ban, announced this month, targets hotdogs, labeling them as symbols of “Western decadence.”
According to the Sun, the 40-year-old Supreme Leader declared that serving or eating the American-inspired fast food is now an act of treason.
Residents caught cooking or selling the sausage-based dish risk harsh punishment, including imprisonment in labour camps.

A vendor in the northern Ryanggang Province revealed to The Sun that even budae-jjigae, a popular Korean-American fusion dish featuring sausages, kimchi, and beans, has disappeared from the market.
“Sales of budae-jjigae in the market have stopped,” the vendor lamented, as authorities cracked down on the savory meal imported from South Korea in 2017.
The measure is part of Kim’s ongoing campaign to root out what his regime views as “capitalist contamination” infiltrating the isolated nation. But it doesn’t stop there.
Kim Jong Un’s administration has also intensified its stance on divorce, ordering that both parties in a dissolved marriage be sent to labor camps for up to six months. Previously, only the spouse initiating the divorce faced penalties.
A resident from Kimjongsuk County recounted to Radio Free Asia how a recent court session saw 12 couples handed divorce decrees, only to be immediately transported to labour camps. “Until last year, only the person who filed for divorce was punished, but now both are sent to the camps,” the resident explained.
