A social media following built on TikTok is beginning to translate into music streams for Nigerian content creator Blackchully, whose debut single Payment Before Service has recorded modest early gains across digital platforms.

Released on November 10, 2025, the track features Big YD the Beast and marks Blackchully’s first official entry into the music space. Data from Spotify shows the song crossed 2,000 streams within its opening weekend, rising to over 4,000 shortly after release. As of April 5, 2026, total streams have reached 20,361 globally.

The single also secured placements on curated playlists, including New Music Friday, contributing to its initial visibility. While such placements typically offer a baseline level of exposure, the track’s performance suggests additional interest driven by the artist’s online audience.

On TikTok, the song gained traction through user-generated content, particularly clips built around its Hausa-language elements. A related trend, referred to as the “Kakashi House Sound Challenge”, has circulated among users, further amplifying reach beyond streaming platforms.

The crossover from short-form video to music is becoming a familiar pathway for emerging artists, with virality often serving as a launch point for wider distribution. In Blackchully’s case, her existing audience appears to have provided early support for the release.

A follow-up single, Crush, was released on November 27, 2025, less than three weeks after her debut. The announcement was made across her social media pages, reflecting a strategy of maintaining momentum through consistent releases.

Beyond streaming numbers, Payment Before Service has also appeared on Apple Music’s Nigerian charts, entering the Top 50 shortly after release. The track continues to feature among trending sounds on TikTok at the time of writing, indicating ongoing engagement from users.

While still at an early stage, Blackchully’s transition from social media content creation to music reflects a wider shift in how artists are discovered and promoted. Platforms such as TikTok increasingly shape listening habits, often determining which songs gain initial attention.

For Blackchully, the coming months are likely to test whether early online traction can be sustained through further releases and audience growth. Her debut has provided a starting point, with performance so far driven by a combination of platform visibility and fan engagement.
