Wizkid breaks YouTube Nigeria record with ‘Piece of My Heart’
Grammy-winning singer Wizkid has once again raised the bar with his new single, Piece of My Heart, which is already smashing records across streaming platforms.
Featuring American RnB sensation Brent Faiyaz, the track dropped on October 18, 2024, and hasn’t slowed down since.
Piece of My Heart has now claimed the title of the most-streamed song in its debut week on YouTube Nigeria, amassing 1.20 million views and overtaking the previous record-holder, Fireboy DML’s Peru remix with Ed Sheeran, which drew in 1.18 million streams.

Wizkid’s new track is on a roll and also broke the record for the biggest opening day streams on Spotify Nigeria, a title he previously shared with Afro-fusion star Asake’s MMS.
The recent feat has made Piece of My Heart the first-ever African track to cross the 1 million streams mark on Spotify Nigeria in its first 24 hours.
The record-breaking moment has shown Wizkid’s massive influence in Nigeria’s music scene. It also shines a spotlight on Nigeria’s growing streaming culture, particularly on YouTube, which has become one of the country’s most preferred digital streaming services.
