If your weekend calls for calm rather than crowds, consider a quieter escape. The Federal Palace Hotel and Casino offers comfort, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere, while Lakowe Lakes provides fresh air, open space and a slower pace that’s perfect for unwinding.

FILMS TO ADD TO YOUR JANUARY WATCHLIST

January is a good time to make room for new movies. Mercy Aigbe’s Everything Is New Again arrives in cinemas on January 30, alongside Alive Till Dawn, A Leo Obienyi and Uzor Arukwe Production.

BOOKS TO READ BEFORE JANUARY ENDS

Before January wraps up, aim to read at least one book that sharpens how you think and live. These four titles focus on power, confidence, and purpose. They offer practical lessons you can apply daily. Pick one and start.

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene breaks down how influence works using historical examples to teach strategy, reputation management, and self-control. You learn why silence matters and how awareness protects you in work and relationships.

WHERE TO SHOP IN LAGOS

The third week of January is a good time to refresh your space and restock essentials. A calm shopping run can help you reset and start the rest of the month feeling organised.
