One hundred beneficiaries of the first phase of the community based skills acquisition programme in Abia State have been assured of getting the necessary start-up equipment and capital, courtesy of the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu.

The governor’s wife who made the pledge at Umuobiakwa in Obingwa Local Government Area, during the flag-off of a self sponsored skill acquisition project being run in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment Community Based Skills Training programme, promised her support on the basis that it would enable the graduates become small scale entrepreneurs.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who was represented by his Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Mr. Uche Ihediwa said the trainees will also benefit from an export promotion programme that will enable their products to be sold.
