11MW Ibadan hybrid power project begins operations
Oyo State Government has said that the 11 megawatts Ibadan hybrid power project commissioned by Governor Seyi Makinde early this month has taken off.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, said the Oyo State Secretariat and its environs, covering all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including the Secretariat Clinic, the House of Assembly and the Governor’s Office, had started experiencing uninterrupted power supply.
According to Oyelade, in a statement made available to journalists, the development is a fulfilment of Makinde’s promise to commence the power independence for the state.
Oyelade, who said that the first phase of the project was a five-megawatts integrated power plant, consisting of solar power and natural gas, said the next phase would extend to other critical arms of government.
