2027 is Nigerians against Tinubu, not North Vs South – Atiku’s aide

Demola Olarewaju, the Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said the 2027 election will not be a North vs South affair but one between Nigerians and President Bola Tinubu.

Olarewaju said this after the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, advised Atiku and other northerners to shift their presidential ambition to 2031.

According to Akume, the south has to hold the Presidency till 2031 to equal the eight years spent by the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari, a northerner.

Reacting, Olarewaju said on X that the attempt by Akume to introduce North vs South into the 2027 convo is a distraction that must be ignored.

He lamented the “doomsday triplets unleashed by the APC demons – hunger, poverty and inflation,” saying they are ravaging Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity or zone.

“Bola Tinubu’s strategy to woo Southern sympathy will only ultimately benefit his tiny gang of Lagos Boys; not even all Yorubas – he must be isolated as the self-serving opportunist that he is,” he said.

He said those who thought Tinubu would be an upgrade on Buhari should know that the only upgrade is in the area of renewed poverty, hunger and inflation brought by official looting, failed policies and oppression.

Olarewaju concluded by stating that a second term for a Tinubu administration “would be far worse.”
