A 26-year-old unemployed man, Femi Olaojo, was on Friday arraigned at a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos state, for allegedly assaulting his ex-lover. , Missouri Sarah Samuel.

The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing a one count charge of assault.

Olaojo was said to have assaulted Sarah Samuel over issues of infidelity.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Innocent Uko, told the court that the accused and the lady were engaged in a heated argument over the latter’s alleged infidelity.

He said that the accused assaulted the woman in the process.

According to Uko, the victim is in the hospital recuperating from the multiple injuries she sustained from the assault.

He told the court that Olaojo committed the offence on Jan. 27, at No. 19 Olaomi Street at Morogbo area of Badagry.

He said that the offence contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011.

Counsel to the accused, Mr Akbam Okon, pleaded with the court to grant bail to his client.

The Magistrate, Mr Abiodun Etti, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 and a surety in the like sum.

Etti said that the surety must provide evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till March 14 for further hearing.
