500 women in Plateau receive household appliances

The wife of Plateau Governor, Mrs Helen Mutfwang, on Saturday distributed 500 household appliances to 500 women as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Support Scheme (RHIESS).

Mrs Mutfwang, who spoke during the distribution of the appliances in Jos, said the programme was designed by Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, to empower women across the country.

The governor’s wife encouraged the beneficiaries to use the products to improve their quality of life and also support their families.

“ We are distributing 125 grinding machines, 125 deep freezers, 125 burners, and 125 generators to 500 women, “ Mrs Mutfwang said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), correspondent, spoke with some of the beneficiaries who expressed joy over the gesture.

Chinkinan Gaius, a mother of two, said that she had never experienced this type of gesture where one could receive such an intervention without knowing someone within the government circle.

Evelyn Dabit , a student of the University of Jos , who got an inverter freezer, described it as a miracle, and thanked the government.

Blessing Nenman , a mother of three, who got a burner, also expressed appreciation to the government for empowering women in the state.
