Abia PDP Reacts On INEC Staff Caught With Card Reader Machines
SEQUEL to the reported arrest of some Abia State INEC staff in Umuahia on Tuesday with seven INEC Card Reader Machines without authorisation, the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a thorough Police investigation to unravel the brains behind it and bring the culprits to book.
Abia State secretary of the party, Barr. Charles Eseonu, in Umuahia, said PDP roundly condemned the incident.
He stated that the alleged involvement of some INEC staff presupposes that it must have been a planned act orchestrated by enemies of free and fair elections in the state.
His words: “Associating PDP with the INEC incident by the opposition party is not surprising, rather a continuation of the cabal’s unfathomable and unbridled desire to acquire power by all means.
“ Any attempt or insinuation by any group or individual to directly or indirectly associate the PDP with the reported incident should be seen not only as ridiculous, but a reflection of malice against the party.”
