Doctor Matthew Abiodun has emerged as Covenant University’s best graduating PhD student of the College of Engineering class of 2023. Abiodun, during his research at the university, specialised in developing fuel nano-additives from agro-waste, an innovative project aimed at enhancing combustion efficiency and reducing emissions.
The research and his academic works earned him dual awards as the best graduating student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the College of Engineering, reflecting his commitment to sustainable fuel solutions and his ability to bridge academic research with industrial application.
In addition to his research accolades, Abiodun has a notable publication record, having authored and co-authored over 12 academic publications in high-impact journals that have garnered over 70 citations. This growing body of work underscores his expertise and ongoing contributions to advancements in engineering research, inspiring a generation of intellectuals.
Abiodun, an indigene of Ogun State in Nigeria, envisions both business and technical perspectives in providing lasting panacea to organisations’ challenges.
Besides, with a professional career spanning well over a decade, primarily in the oil and gas industry, he has collaborated with major industry players.
