One of the governorship aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s primaries, Dr. Olusegun Abraham, has denied supporting the party’s candidate, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu.

Abraham, who was the first runner-up in the primaries, made the clarification in an interview in Akure.

He said he was determined to reclaim his mandate, which was stolen.

He said: “My supporters should distance themselves from any information or attempt to confuse them by wrongfully claiming that I am planning to work with or support Akeredolu.

“I have not declared support for Akeredolu or any other candidate. I am solidly behind Ondo people and I strongly believe that justice would be done soon. Abraham urged the people to resist attempts to deceive them.

“The reclamation of my mandate, which is the people’s mandate is already in court and the next hearing is slated for November 10, 2016.

“I am hopeful that we would get justice, not only for myself or the members of the APC, but also for the entire people of the state who have earnestly shown their desire for good governance by embracing my candidature,” he said.

Meanwhile, Akeredolu has said that regional integration could be achieved if the same party controls the southwest states.

He spoke to party supporters when he visited Owena, Epe, Abule Olabosipo, Orisunmibare, Fagbo and Bolorunduro communities in Ondo East Local Council.

The candidate promised to use the oil-producing status of the state to champion development in Yoruba land.

He added that farmers would be encouraged to restore the lost value of cocoa, especially with the fall of the price of crude oil.

To encourage agriculture, he said a special day would be dedicated to farming, adding that he would also own a farm if elected.

He urged the people to ignore the promises from the Alliance for Democracy (AD) by voting for the APC.

The candidate pledged to divide Ondo East local council into two, as it is too big to remain one.
