Abuja Traders Protest Illegal Sale Of Market
THE Zone 3 branch of Nigerian Market Traders Association, Abuja, has protested the sale of their market to unknown individual in less than one week to the end of the present administration.
The traders alleged that the out going Minster of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, was responsible for the action.
Chairman of the association, comrade Tony Kana, alleged that, “the outgoing minister allocated their market to somebody else without informing them. The buyer is now trying to throw us out, and we cannot go back to the streets; we cannot go and steal, we cannot prostitute. We are noble citizens of this country and we are doing our lawful businesses,” they insisted.
The traders informed that they had earlier applied for the land in other to take full ownership of the market, stressing that the minister ignored them, only for him to tell them later that the land had been given to somebody else.
“We are saying no to this act of impunity.”
