Accord expels Okupe for anti-party activities
Accord Party has expelled Dr. Doyin Okupe over anti-party activities, saying it had warned him several times to stop activities that have been causing chaos and anarchy within the party.
Its National Secretary, Abiola Adebukola Ajaja who spoke on behalf of the members told journalists yesterday after an emergency meeting that out of 16 members, nine voted in favour of Okupe’s expulsion, four advised the party to caution him, while one member abstained.
“We have been on the issue for a very long time where he has been invited for a discussion, but he refused to show up and still continued his anti-party activities causing chaos and anarchy,” she said.
Ajaja also explained that the party considered waving all the monies for women who desire to contest elective positions, adding that youths aged between 18 and 35 years who want to contest under the party would pay half the price of the nomination and expression of interest forms.
