The Accord Party has denied alleged adoption of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s governorship candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The state chairman of the party, Samson Isibor, who said this yesterday, explained that a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Don Pedro Obaseki, who defected to the PDP, has since been expelled from the party.

The party cautioned the PDP to deal with him as an individual and not as a member of the Accord Party.

The chairman also stated that the said Joseph Omoregbe mentioned in the allegation was not the authentic chairman of the party in the state.‎

Isibor alleged: “Whereas Don Pedro Obaseki was expelled as an impostor, impersonation and a political liability, Omoregbe was expelled for alleged sabotage. The Accord party therefore appeals to the people not to be deceived by the antics of this duo who have the penchant of changing political parties.”

He urged the PDP chairman Dan Orbih to steer clear from its affairs, as those looking for cheap popularity have missed their bearings by this action.

According to him, “Accord Party in conjunction with the Conference of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) will, in the next few days, announce their adopted governorship candidate for the September 10 polls.”

It would be recalled that Don Pedro Obaseki recently led his supporters in backing the candidacy of Ize-Iyamu, saying he found his programmes most laudable among other candidates and parties.

Isibor explained that this came after the party allegedly instituted a court action stopping him from parading himself as the governorship candidate of Accord Party.
