Achi introduces AI governance framework for communications

Dr. Celestine Achi

‎Nigerian AI governance strategist Dr. Celestine Achi has introduced a structured framework aimed at addressing what he describes as a critical governance gap in the communications profession.

‎The framework, known as Engineering of Trust™, provides a governance architecture designed to ensure that AI systems used in communications are measurable, auditable, and defensible. According to Dr. Achi, while AI adoption has accelerated across institutions, governance mechanisms specific to AI in communications have not matured at the same pace, creating reputational and regulatory exposure for organizations.

‎Dr. Achi stated that many institutions are integrating AI into messaging, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management without adequate accountability systems. He argues that the absence of structured oversight increases vulnerability to misinformation, compliance failures, and erosion of public trust.

‎The Engineering of Trust™ framework introduces a guardrail architecture for AI-generated messaging, incorporates verification checkpoints prior to public dissemination, and establishes a Trust Failure Taxonomy designed to identify predictable system breakdowns. It also features a measurable Trust Scorecard and a seven-day activation roadmap to support institutional AI governance integration.

‎In addition to the framework, Dr. Achi has released two professional resources to support implementation. The AI-Powered PR Playbook: Engineering Trust in the Age of AI serves as a structured professional guide outlining deployable governance architecture for AI systems in communications. The Engineering of Trust™ Assessment is a diagnostic tool designed to help institutions evaluate AI readiness, identify governance vulnerabilities, and assess structural exposure.

‎“The next evolution of public relations will not be automation. It will be accountable automation,” he said.

‎He has proposed dialogue with professional bodies and institutional stakeholders to explore the development of structured AI governance standards within the communications sector.
